Holding Pattern reviewed by the wonderful scouttv.com.au You can read a lovely review of our EP at scouttv: www.scouttv.com.au/cd-reviews Thanks scouttv we love you! (Check them out for some extremely well produced podcasts) Review of Holding Pattern: Dizzygotheca are an electronica/dark wave duo hailing from Brisbane. Holding Pattern, their debut EP consists of nine tracks of glitchy, textured beats, ethereal sound scapes and layerings of haunting vocals. Heidi, the feminine side of Dizzygotheca, weaves her words around Anthony’s beats, slowly creating a blanket of sound with which the listeners can wrap themselves. Clearly influenced by bands like Portishead, Aphex Twin and Sigur Ros, Dizzygotheca bring their own fresh, and uniquely Australian sound to the often stale and stagnant electronica genre. The tracks on Holding Pattern are nothing short of beautiful. Singing of truth, love, beauty, truth, and our natural world, Dizzygotheca have laid down the soundtrack for a film that doesn’t yet exist. Standouts are Cocoon, which is so hauntingly touching you are almost saddened when the track draws to a close, 1000 Seas, with a distinct Bjork influence, and I (Heart) Robots, which came in at number 34 in local radio 4ZzZ’s Hot 100 of 2007. The packaging of Holding Pattern seems to be something special too. Hand printed on 100% recycled cardboard, and numbered, each copy is its own little masterpiece. Regrettably, I purchased the EP on iTunes, but will no doubt get a physical copy in the near future. (4 Comments) |

nihntaau = track of the day on garageband kind of cool. our track 'i haven't told anyone about us' is the electronica track of the day on garageband on march 11 www.garageband.com/dizzygotheca it's interesting reading other people's mini reviews of our tracks. some scathing, some kind and generous, and all reflecting their authors spin on music and life. We have had some great ones, and some real stinkers :) (1 Comments) |

You do need a paypal account to purchase, put its a free signup and its probably the most secure form of payment on the web. So buy, my pretties, buy....... |
